Volume Master – What is Volume Master
Volume Master Chrome extension is a superb tool to effectively master your volume on different tabs. It works similarly to the Chrome Extensions Volume Booster and Sound Booster aka Volume Booster when installed.

Tip: use keys 0 – 6 to adjust the volume
Right after opening Volume Master, press keys 0 – 6 to change the volume from 0 % to 600 %, respectively.

Just type chrome://extensions/shortcuts in the address bar and set your own shortcut to open Volume Master.
Volume Master also has a day/night setting which is very popular amongst most night owls 🙂
How does Volume Master compare to other sound boosters?
Volume Master compares to ‘Volume Booster’ and ‘Sound Control – Volume Booster’ where the main interface comes in a fixed pop-up window. Volume Master will also boost the volume with an additional 600%. These extensions are so similar that you might have a hard time distinguishing them, So, mostly it’s a matter of taste.
Volume Master does however have 2 big things going for it!
- It is super lightweight as an extension, which means that it won’t slow down your computer nearly as much as the other Volume Booster extensions
- Volume Master has Night Mode & Gives you easy tips on how to use their extension.
Other than that, you will find that Volume Master lets you set a volume for each individual tab. It also shows each active sound source when you click on the Volume Master icon.
One downside of Volume Master however is that you won’t find a full RESET button or any ON/OFF button.

How to use Volume Master
Click on the Volume Master ICON on the top right of your browser. A fixed pop-up window will open (that is if you Pinned the Volume Booster after your installation)
- Using Volume Master is super intuitive. You can set your desired Volume setting for each individual browser tab by using the slider or using your up & down keyboard shortcuts.
- You can toggle and switch between Night Mode and Day Mode
- Use the number 0 to 6 to change the volume from 100% increments
- Sound sources are easily identifiable and you can switch between all active sound sources!

Volume Master – Our Impression!
VOLUME MASTER has been a favorite of ours for some time. After having reviewed many new volume booster extensions for Chrome, it still remains our favorite overall.
While we do miss the reset or on and off button that you can find on Sound Control and Volume Booster, we appreciate the day and night mode, and especially the fact that we are receiving all this functionality in a SUPER lightweight extension. So this extension will not slow you down much!
