So for this test of Leonardo.ai we did THREE things,

1. we gave a text description

2. We gave the input image as seen below (courtesy of Noayla.com)

3. We chose a specific algorithm to generate the result – We have chosen 2 different algorithms in order to show how a result can vary from one algorithms to another.

1. Text Prompt

Description: Create a fish based on the design of the seahorses in the image input, use the galaxy-styled skin as your guidance

2. Image Input (for composition purposes)

Here, we used a digital art design hand-made by a young 11-year-old digital art designer. We wanted to use this as a template to check if the algorithm could translate our prompt. We have not tinkered around too much with the description, as we simply wanted to verify simplicity for a regular beginning user of Leonardo.ai.

3. Algorithm selection

Choosing an AI algorithm is much like selecting the overall style you are going for, like photo-realistic, cartoon style, etc… However, note that you should also be aware that some algorithms are more evolved than others. So you will have to consider this when you choose an algo. This same fact is true for ANY AI-driven image generator! They all have their strengths and weaknesses. 

We selected 3D animation Style for the first example but used different algorithms.  Here is the resulting generated image and we have added full details of prompt and settings for each of the resulting images!

As you can see in the image below, the combination of the prompt and the algorithm has offered a beautifully generated image showcasing the two seahorses. However, they are now depicted with fish heads and scales. While the prompt did not pick up on our ask to use the galaxy-styled skin of the original image or did not create a standalone fish, the result is surprisingly good. It makes you wonder how young artists will have to compete/ differentiate, or express themselves in the future! 

The AI algorithms used the same composition of the image and created a fish-like resemblance.

As you can see in the image below, while using the same text-based prompt, tinkering with the settings and choosing another algorithm provides a drastically different result. Still, it is another fantastic image output that was generated for free by AI!
