Step 1 – Go to the Google Chrome Store
Go to the Google Chrome Extension Webstore: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions
Note 1: The Google Chrome Webstore is the official Google web store, so you can be confident that these ‘Chrome extensions’ are legitimate and are safe to add to your chrome browser.
Note 2: It is very easy to ADD + also to REMOVE Google Chrome extensions without any hassle!
Step 2 – In Chrome store: Search for ‘GRAMMARLY’
In this case, we have chosen for ‘GRAMMARLY’. This extension is currently installed by well over 10 million users which makes it a solid choice as your personal spell-checker!
Step 3 – Add the GRAMMARLY Chrome Extension to your Chrome Browser
The installation is extremely quick and easy. Simply click ‘add to Chrome’ followed by clicking the ‘add extension’ pop-up.
NOTE: You will see that a product landing page will open from ‘GRAMMARLY’, but you can close this window and ignore it.
Step 4 – PIN your GRAMMARLY extension – OPTIONAL
Now that you have installed the GRAMMARLY extension, you can choose to add it to your pinned extensions. This makes it easy for you to visualise the extensions that you are currently using.
Step 5 – Now let’s check GRAMMARLY writing and spell-check extension in a Google document
You can check the results for yourself! In the first image below you are seeing a test text. The built-in Google Doc spell-check is ON but the GRAMMARLY extension is turned off. Next, we are enabling the Grammarly extension for Chrome browser and can observe the results. Once the Grammarly spelling and grammar corrector is on, it becomes clear that the application can detect more issues with your text, including punctuation issues and redundant words, and so on.
We can immediately observe how Grammarly is doing a far better job at identifying and helping you correct your texts.
