How to Use Google Tab Groups and Workona Chrome Extension to organize tabs?
This is our starting point – A browser window with too many tabs
- Top left of our browser, we click on the Workona LOGO which will direct us to the Workona dashboard for our account
–>Let us start by creating a workspace
- Let us start by selecting the browser window that you want to organize as a workspace
- Name your workspace and click ‘save
- Creating additional workspaces can be done by clicking the + symbol
–>We created a second empty workspace and show you how to drag and drop chrome tabs between workspaces
- On the right side of the Workona dashboard we can have an overview of all the open chrome tabs in a browser window
- You can select browser windows and drag and drop them to another workspace!
–>Now we are going to reorganize our chrome windows/ workspaces using Google Chrome Tab Groups
- To Create a Google Chrome Tab Group
- Right-click on the browser tab and click ‘Add to New Group’
- Create as many Tab Groups as you see fit
- Assign chrome tabs to the Google Tab Groups you created
- Once Google Tab Groups have been created, you can assign all the chrome tabs that belong to that group
- Assigning Chrome tab to group can be done by:
- Right Click on tab –> add to group
- Drag and drop the window to the Tab group (open the group tab first before starting drag and drop)
–> EXAMPLE: Six Youtube Chrome tabs are now grouped into ONE Google Tab Group
